A new year brings new beginnings...nuevo comienzo. But we also say goodbye to 2009, friends lost and old habits broken. Each year that passes reminds me that I am getting older in small, almost imperceptible ways. In this, my 45th year, I am still blessed with a full head of hair and no gray...although this will change, I'm sure.
I encourage all who read this blog to keep your hearts turned to God and pray for your fellow brothers and sisters and remember that everyone is fighting unseen battles. Live with humility, discernment, stillness and love.
This wonderful picture was taken by the gerbera. It was taken in November 2009 at Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal. We were there to visit some Colombian friends of ours and went to the oratory on this particular clear, sunny November day. The picture reminds us of how Christ's death on the cross brought light to the world....
